Nanny - Forever in our Hearts

On September 26th I received news that my Nanny was on hospice and that we should stop by to say our goodbyes as soon as we could. Justin and I came down on Tuesday. The following morning we received the call that she was no longer with us. Thankfully my work allows 3 days for bereavement so I was able to dedicate my time to my family. I made Nanny’s service cards for all to remember her, which included a verse suggested by my Aunt Dalene-

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.You know the way to the place where I am going." – John 14 1-4

The service was held on October 3rd and was beautiful. Everyone shared all of their memories of Nanny and it was like memory lane. I learned things about her I never knew before and that cleared a lot of things up… Like why she has a southern accent, and what she did for a living. Nanny was such a huge part of this family. She had 5 generations!!! She was an amazing women who was headstrong, bold, wise, caring, and loving. Yet, if you didn’t have your room clean and bed made she would raise some hell, Then offer you her homemade breakfast of bacon, eggs, and biscuits & gravy. She lived a very long and fulfilling life… We should all be so lucky. She was 85 years old. Rest in peace Nanny. Forever in our hearts.

Got the Dress!

Well, Since my last wedding update, I have assembled (with the help of Frieda and Tina of course) & sent out the Save the Dates, Ordered and received the hurricane glass vases for the centerpieces, got the guestbook (still need to design it), and much, much more!!!! Justin and I met with the wedding planner at Silverstone and chose linens, and the layout of the room. We discussed appetizers, and timing, and all the really fun small details! My Autnie offered to do make up and maybe hair for as a wedding gift and I created a seating chart, and ordered all of the floating candles. Im thinking water jems for the centerpieces, with the floating candles, and the damask ribbon around the glass. But I keep changing my mind… Oh, &&&& I finally GOT THE DRESS!!! Frieda and Tina accompanied to find the perfect one! At least we hope so! I think it fits perfectly! Im so happy for the support I had on this one. Next is making and assembling the invitations!!! Yayy!
Justin’s been dedicating almost every Saturday to his 69 Chevy Nova J He fixed the door, finished painting the dash, finished the bondo (sp?) on the outside, and we are ready for paint and carpet (I think) the engine is inside and there's a few more things to work on before we can finally start it up. I wish I could give more details, but, When Justin’s working with his car, Im doing craft, DVR, or wedding projects… And Im not sure what most of the car lingo means… But Im very anxious of the car starting and him driving me around town in it!

Duck Creek Utah :: 2011

We returned to Duck Creek Utah campgrounds for the second time on our own this July of 2011. We weren’t able to make it for Fourth of July, but the weather was still great, and everyone had a good time. My, Justin, Troy, Trisha, Jesse, Cassius, Nala, Chisel, and Sarah brought the trailor to our little spot (which we had to fight for… We made and paid for a reservation months prior and when we got there they said “my mom” call and told them we weren’t coming, so they gave our spot away….. My mother didn’t even know I was here! Lol Well, we got our spot back, needless to say.) next to Nana, Papa, Josh, Cami, and other neighbors Jan, Chris, Emily, and Katie. J It’s a family spot. My goal was to fish, which we did, but was unsuccessful. We also recreated the same photo that we took in 2010 of Justin and Cassius in the creek. Can’t wait to return next year!

Disneyland :: August 2011

Another trip to Disneyland with our Season Passes!!!! This time we were accompanied by two lovely ladies!!!! Momma Lena & Grandma Tuttie came too!!! We showed them the “It’s a Bugs Life” interactive show (twice) and the World of Color show from a new view (Ariel’s Grotto) where we were all pleased with delicious drinks! Gma even got a light up ice cube as a souvenir! We had a great time with them, as we always do. Tip for next time:: Don’t go in August when it feels like a million degrees!
